…the weather in Lima has changed unnoticed. The heat came down, so the air feels fresh and smells just like spring in Europe. I love spring. It is exciting and bothering, always makes me feel younger than I am at the moment. And even though it is autumn in Peru, the smell and the light here wakes up a very personal spring inside me! And spring is always about love…

As I promised more of Callao is coming…
This is just one evening in pictures. I finally managed to catch a tipical Callao men´s habit, so here it comes: in the daylight in front of audience just one more peruvian man with his pants down… right there in the street…
But sometimes Callao gives me some great feelings… When the sun goes down with the rythms of passionate peruvian cumbia, I get as free and happy as Callao woman can possibly be…

I love dancing! I love when people have fun dancing and enjoy it! So I enjoyed a lot watching this go-go dancer going wild! Common, she´s hot!

I believe only a dedicated photographer knows how it feels like to lose personal works. No matter if they were good or not, it makes you feel like you made a step back erasing those pictures… It´s not what you do on purpose. And even though I know there is a lot in front of me, I still turn my head back to the day when our computer broke down and we lost lots of information, including some of my photos, which (our mistake) we didn´t back up…
Still I´d like to share some of those photos with you. I likely uploaded them on facebook, so the whole experience of peruvian Asia (one beautiful place) is now kept only in copies. Anyway here it comes.
Beach, ocean, sun… If you once get a chance to come to here, just do it!

Callao downtown is a grey and a little scary place. The streets are noisy, the people are weird. Here you might get robbed in the daylight, and it´s definitely not the place you want to visit at night. You can easily get lost among once great architectural constractions which are now destroyed and forgotten. The place stinks.
Therefor it was a special enjoyment for me to see the school kids demonstration as it represented the children´s interest in their own future! Hopfully one day Callao will become a better place, because those kids might do a better job than their parents…

It´s obvious that we live every day. That´s how we do it: wake up and crawl out of the dream world, get out of bed, take a cup of coffee and follow “personal schedule” whatever it is- studies, work, hobby, meeting people, shopping, cocking, “bath-rooming”, watching TV, dancing and so on…
But there are those other moments of our lives when we feel different… more alive… maybe alive to extreems… Then and there we wake up from the living dream and once living for real. Doesn´t matter how and what we feel then, it´s not about the pain or pleasure we might feel at the moment, it´s just about the very moment itself, when we see with open eyes, breath with full lungs, when the coffee tastes better then ever…
One of these moments I LIVED today, while sitting in the park with Pepo (my husband) and Negrita (the street dog we take care of)… Nothing special happened this evening. But the light was bright, air fresh, even a little cold and I could clearly hear the sound of the swing coming from the playground, where a school girl seemed to be living the moment too…
All that reminded me of another day and another living experience, which for some reason was kept somewhere in my memory, and which I likely managed to catch “on tape”.

The pictures where taken 2 (or more?) years ago in Norway.
The same people, the same feeling, just different places…
Wish to everyone to feel THAT ALIVE more often! 🙂

It is a beautiful early morning. I´m Peru. Away from my home…
While looking through head-lines in my favourite online “newspapers” I found some interesting stuff about Russia. Well, I´m belorussian, but both of my lovely parents are russian. This fact I guess makes Russia my second home-land… Whatever…
Here are some interesting articles about Russia I´d like to share with you!

This was the first article I read:
New Rules for Russia’s Cops: No Bribes or Wild Sex

What can I say? Russian police is well-known for its bad reputation: abuse of power, cruelty, corruption, “friendship” with criminals. It has been this way for quite a while already, so I have doubts about the success of this new code of conduct for the police, “the aim of which is to turn Russia’s police into polished professionals”. Well, good luck with this. I must admit though that there are those russian policemen, who choose the job with the willing to protect the country and its society, but it´s pretty much impossible for a healthy humanistic idea to survive in the corrupted and wasted environment of the police-office.

I hope the people who took those pictures are in good health today.

While researching for the second article about new taxi-business for russian women, I found out that to get access to any information on The Moscow Times online you have to subscribe. Ok. Lets see how it works in real time…
Well, it´s Russia, so… The Moscow Times “allows free access to all articles published in the last month”. BUT! “In order to read the full text of other stories, we require a subscription to the Article Archive.” And… “Subscription rates for non-residents are based on fixed rouble/euro rate which is 34,5 roubles for 1 euro”.
I guess I´ll just trust to my FREE norwegian source, which says that “A young, beautiful and drunk woman takes a taxi outside nightclub. Sometime later she wakes up raped and left in a park. The scene is unfortunately quite common for Moscow even amoung established taxi-companies. That´s why taxi for women with a woman behind wheel has become a new business”…

Another intresting thing about Russia is its obsession with fashion! Just check out this CNN report.

And that´s true: russian people, specially women, are so into “looking fabulous”, that no economical crises can stop them from spending money on clothes, high-heels shose, make up, hair and manicure.
More about RFW.

And here is the last but not the least news about Russian for today.
Many russian women still prefer abortion to prevention. Nothing else needs to be said.

Anyway Russia is not that bad. And I´d like to share its GOOD with you next time! So check up on me!

And one more rather funny and cute (maybe a little dumb) thing about Russia:

While the Catholic Church has been celebrating the Easter praying and talking to God, I spend more time thinking about the religion. Let me notice that I don´t consider myself to be a religious person. But I am a believer. It means that I don´t pray, don´t go to church, don´t believe in priests speaches, don´t waste time talking, don´t pretend… But I do believe in God, not the one that expects me to stand on my knees in front of it´s holy “face” though, but the God who wants me to be kind and do “good” instead of talking. So my Easter i spent as any other day of my life, dedicating some hours of my free time to help someone in need. Well, I´m not a saint and don´t want to be one, I´m not looking for acceptance from the church (God, no!) . I simply do what I can to make this world a better place to be. And I know I´m a good person, because that´s what I choose to be.
Here is the question: what is faith actually about???
Why do people waste time praying to God if it´s in their own hands to help, to give and to change the world? What is this whole church mess about if it´s not about lazy “church people” with sharp toungues that expect the God to do their human job…
Why do many people go to stupid extreems instead of simply doing “good”?
What is you faith??? Might it look like this?

Here I am, 24-year old woman, who never was a fan of Nirvana, but reading this CNN news I feel sad… 15 years, right? Am I that old already?
I still can remember many of the friends from my youth wearing those jeans with the cuts, black T-shirts with the picture of a man with blond dirty hair with the guitar in his hands… The guys always smoked and sung. I was listening to RAP and doing my best to ignore the whole noise over the blond guy on the T-shirt.
The time passed… And as I listen to 2Pac my heart jumps and all the memories from the teenage camping years come up. But there are some very unique beautiful memories, that wake up only when I hear:
Come kurt-cobain
As you are
As you were
As I want you to be
As a friend
As a friend
As a known memory…

I guess we all were effected by Kurt Cobain one way or another. And even 15 years after his death, he wakes up a teenager in each and every of us… bringing us moments of nirvana.
